Timeless works
WE WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU…
LIKE A WORK OF ART
Overlooking the tranquil Rio di Santa Fosca, in the heart of the Cannaregio district, the Hotel Ca’ Vendramin Zago di Santa Fosca is located in an ideal location, being centrally placed but away from the main tourist area.
It is thirty metres from the Strada Nova, the city’s main pedestrian artery. Situated in a fascinating setting, the 17th-century Palazzo boasts a refined Renaissance façade adorned with ornate designs, reliefs on the portal and on the pilasters, together with its distinctive four-light window on the main floor.
We are conveniently situated for the train station, and thanks to our exclusive water gate, we can also be reached by water taxi. Alternatively, the nearby Cà D’Oro vaporetto (water bus) stop is just a short walk away.

History
THE ART PRESERVED BY
THE NOBLEMAN GABRIELE
Ca’ Vendramin Zago was once home to Gabriele Vendramin, a Venetian patrician and refined intellectual who lived in the first half of the 16th century. He was well known for his cultural standing and patronage in Venice at the time. He adorned the rooms of his own palazzo with paintings by Giorgione, including the famous Tempesta, now housed in the Gallerie dell’Accademia, and by Titian, and he was client and friend to both artists. Today the splendour of the past is carefully maintained by the Zago family.
